Back on the Staffs/Worcs Canal but will I be proved right?

The video begins on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal in the exact spot where I fished yesterday.

Was I right or not?

Yes, because I did catch, although I didn’t exactly set the angling world alight.

I had to wait a long time though before I did and you can see that in the video, the grainy first-light becomes daylight proper.

I fished the boat channel with a small waggler float and presented two white maggots on a size 14 hook.

The bulk of the shot was around the float with a size 8 about three inches from the hook.

It took the bait down more quickly plus, as it’s the canal, it helps with combating water movement.

However, on this occasion, the latter wasn’t a problem because not only was it a first-light session but the heavy rain ensured the boats stayed moored.

I was there for a couple of hours and even though I would liked to have stayed longer, I was limited by having to go to work later in the morning.

Next stop, Newtown.
