Birding on Anglesey plus red squirrels
One thing that always gets packed when I go on holiday is my binoculars.
I’m a keen birder, although I didn’t go anywhere specifically to tick sightings.
It was more a case of wherever we went, I had my binoculars around my neck and made the most of the time to spot a few birds as well.
The list below is indicative of that, with lots of common birds missing.
The video contains some images taken by my wife at Newborough Forest.
Obviously there’s a red squirrel in there but the birds are, in order of appearance: brambling, gadwall and teal.
Birds seen during holiday: blackbird, black headed gull, blue tit, brambling, carrion crow, chaffinch, collared dove, common tern, coot, cormorant, dunlin, dunnock, eider duck, feral pigeon, gadwall, goldcrest, great crested grebe, great tit, herring gull, house sparrow, jackdaw, lapwing, little egret, long-tailed tit, magpie, mallard, moorhen, mute swan, nuthatch, oystercatcher, raven, redshank, robin, rock pipit, rook, skylark, starling, stonechat, teal, tufted duck, turnstone, wigeon. wood pigeon, wren.
