More interesting activity in the sky

The blog post started with something in the sky and it’s ending that way as well.

This time, I was walking with my wife and dog along the lane where we live and I saw a plane heading towards us that was fairly low in the sky.

I thought to myself, that’s not a passenger plane and it certainly looks familiar.

I always take my binoculars with me on our walks and as soon as I saw it, I knew what it was.

An Airbus Beluga.

I’ve seen them many times at close-range, when I’ve been at Airbus UK Broughton FC.

The clue’s in the name and it’s where they make the wings, which are then flown to France.

The football club’s nickname is the wingmakers.

I could see from the flight path where it had come from and where it was going and, switching on my mobile data and checking my flight app, the confirmation appeared on the screen.

Chester to Toulouse, although technically it is (just) in Wales and is called Hawarden Airport.

I’ve never thought about it before but it’s an interesting fact to know that the Beluga flight path passes over where I live.

By the way, I’ve also seen beluga whales, at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.
