Behind the Welsh League Cup media scenes, as The New Saints welcome Gresford Athletic

The Nathaniel MG Cup (Welsh League Cup) quarter-final game was a JD Cymru Premier v JD Cymru North affair, as The New Saints hosted Gresford Athletic.

As well as writing my programme column, ahead of the game I also wrote, published and shared the match preview.

The game itself ended 9-0 to TNS, with six names on the scoresheet, notably Ash Baker, who scored his first hat-trick as a professional footballer.

Sheffield Wednesday fans will know Ash from his time at Hillsborough, where he played in the English Championship.

Following the game, I interviewed Ash and Chris Seargeant, the assistant-manager.

I also did a short (one question) interview with Tom Jones, in Welsh.

That’s in the behind-the-scenes video below.

Once home after the game, although it was late, I worked on all the videos and published them on the club’s social media platforms.

The following morning, I wrote the five talking points article, which wrapped up the game as far as my own media involvement was concerned.
