The final angling session of the month

Arriving at the water’s edge this morning, I was thinking how quickly time flies.

I can recall my first fishing trip of the month as if it happened yesterday.

On the other hand, as I look back over September, so much has happened that it also feels that I’ve had an extremely busy – but blessed – thirty days as well.

I’ve enjoyed the last few float-fished corn trips to small ponds so much, that’s where I returned this time as well.

It’s been the same approach each session, as the spots I’ve fished have all been shallow – between one and two feet.

The shot has been either side of the 0.8g waggler and the single grain of corn has been presented on a size 14 hook.

As with the others, this morning’s session saw a regular trickle of bites but the fish on the bank were definitely bigger than when fishing with maggots.

Quality over quantity.

Nature watch: Several kingfisher sightings, including a pair in flight that passed just a few feet in front of me.
