The one that got away and the one that didn’t
With a working day ahead of me, I was up nice and early for another tench session on the lake I’ve been fishing for the best part of three months.
That’s coming to an end now, as September looms, but I’ve still got more trips planned in the meantime.
I was fishing with a Fox Barbel Special rod and an Okuma Zeon reel loaded with 6lb Maxima Chameleon.
The hooklength of six inches was created by nipping on a small shot and above that there was a bead and a 3/8 ounce bomb.
The hook was a size 10 Drennan Super Specialist and I fished three rod lengths out over brown crumb and sweetcorn.
It was an incredibly slow session but I got there in the end.
Just.
