Cotwall End Valley nature diary for April 2023

April 10

It’s been on my hit list all year and I’ve finally seen a treecreeper. In woodland with nesting material in its beak.

Also first chiffchaff, saw several singing.

Glimpse of a bullfinch, as it disappeared into a thicket.

Peregrine falcon in flight from west to east across the valley.

Rabbit in woodland. I saw it move first and it looked like something bigger.

April 12

A walk along the lane as far as Spout House and back.

Mistle thrush feeding on the golf course.

Two song thrush sightings in field on the right.
