Time flies and it’s the last angling session of April on the Staffs/Worcs Canal

Certainly as you get older, the saying ‘time flies’ really does take on relevance.

As we say farewell to April, that’s one-third of the year gone already.

With a busy day ahead – it’s Welsh Cup final day at Bangor between The New Saints and Bala Town – I was up at 5.00 a.m. and on my way to the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal.

Although it is a bank holiday weekend and there will be more boats than usual, as an angler you won’t get disturbed first thing.

I hear fishermen complaining about boat traffic but the reality is that without them, the canals wouldn’t be what they are today.
