Pike issues
The only other fish I did do business with though was a pike.
I knew I had them in the swim anyway, from the regular scattering of the small fish.
It took a roach that I had hooked and didn’t let go until almost at the landing net stage of the fight.
The silver was in a poor condition but it did swim away as per the others caught.
They can survive pike attacks, just think of the fish that you catch that bear the obvious scars of an encounter with a predator.
At least pike eating roach is a natural part of the environment and they do play an important role in creating a healthy balance.
