A football day, fishing on a pool, the importance of pike and celebrating the great British drive

A day of football

I was at Park Hall yesterday, with pre-match media work to do ahead of the weekend’s Welsh Cup final.

On the evening, I watched Manchester City against Arsenal on television.

I don’t support them, or anything like that, but I do want the former to win the title.

They’re on fire at the moment and, following the emphatic 4-1 victory, their destiny is very much in their own hands.

Of course, I’d like Wolves or Leeds United to win the league, but my hopes for them are all about avoiding relegation at the moment, as opposed to lifting silverware.
