I’ve been jamming some wood in the gap, but it’s not been a permanent solution, and it was only during the recent Storm Amy that I had a brainwave. Today, the theory became practice and, although time will tell, I’m confident that it’s been sorted.
Fishing the Staffs/Worcs Canal at Swindon with Ian Clarke, three species on the bank and lots of angling memories
Sunday morning fishing on the Staffs/Worcs Canal with Ian Clarke has become a regular feature of late and, on this occasion, we met in the village of Swindon, which is dissected by the canal.
Although it was hard going, nevertheless we did manage to catch, with three species – perch, roach and ruffe – on the bank in the three hours we were there.
As always, we had a good time. We’ve known each other since we were at Queen Victoria Primary School, Sedgley, back in the sixties.
We always talk memories and that’s where video comes into its own, with the ability to capture conversation as it happens.
Tackle-wise, it was my standard set-up that I’ve shown in recent canal blog posts.
On arrival, a calling kingfisher flew past. Raven calling in the distance but not seen, followed by a pair and a single bird – all seen.
