🎣 No boot? No problem. Go lure fishing!
I’ve had an issue with the boot on my car since the weekend.
The catch has jammed and I’m not able to open it.
It is very limiting, as far as getting stuff into the back is concerned, and that’s why I had to cancel today’s planned trip to the River Severn.
However, when I lay the back seat down, I can get my lure fishing tackle in fairly comfortably, and that’s what I did first thing this morning.
I fished a small pool and spent about an hour on there.
That’s a fair number of chucks if you counted them, but I didn’t have one single nibble or follow through.
In fact, there was no evidence at all that there were even fish in there whatsoever.
Of course there are, but the point I’m making is that it was like a piscatorial graveyard, and nothing at all was showing.
Still, I enjoyed the great outdoors and I’ve been fishing, even if I didn’t catch anything.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys G Lite 6’ Spin (4-8 lb), Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 18lb Sufix 832 low vis green braid on reel.
Drennan Double Strength 10lb (1m) joined to the braid with a small swivel.
Micro jig head 0.7g, size 6 hook. Two-inch glider rubber fish.
All knots (3) blood knots.
The small pool is maximum six-feet deep and I covered a lot of water.
Nature notes while fishing
Grey heron standing in the margins when I arrived.
One very noisy ring-necked parakeet landed in woodland alongside the pool.
Flock of ten long-tailed tits.
