🎣 Fishing off the Anglesey rocks with species hunter, Maurice Whitehead
Not literally, but while making my way across the rocks at Trearddur Bay, I bumped into Maurice Whitehead.
He recognised me from my blog, I invited him to fish with me, he accepted, and you can follow the session via the video.
Maurice is a species hunter and there’s more on that in the video, plus it was great to see him accomplish what he set out to do.
On a personal level, I caught one tompot blenny, two corkwing wrasse and I lost count of how many ballan wrasse were banked.
Tackle: SeaTech Outlaw 12’ telescopic rod and Daiwa Jupiter Z 6000 reel, loaded with 20lb line. The float was 5” and the hooklength 2’. Size 1/2 Kamasan Aberdeen hook. Ragworm.
Nature notes: Common tern.
