🎣 Monday morning fishing on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal

Following a breezy night – and you can see the evidence of that in the video – I was up nice and early on Monday morning for an angling visit to the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal.

The wind was still blowing through and, even though it was from the south, there was a definite chill in the air. Although we are now in spring, March weather, at least, is often more akin to that of the previous season, as opposed to the summer.

We haven’t had any heavy rain for a few days though and the muddy water clarity of Saturday has now improved considerably. In fact, on arrival, the canal itself looked great as far as general conditions were concerned.

However, as they say, appearances can be deceptive and, come the final whistle, I didn’t have a single fish to show for my efforts. I even stayed longer than originally planned, doing three hours instead of two.
