🏴 Happy St. David’s Day: Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant Hapus
Happy St. David’s Day, which is Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant Hapus in Welsh, although the sant is often dropped. My garage door currently has the flag of Wales draped over it and it will remain there for the rest of the day.
Although born in the English county of Staffordshire, I’m extremely proud of my mid-Walian roots, and my heritage extends over both my paternal and maternal family trees. I’m also very proud to be English as well, by the way.
I feel English and I feel Welsh and, ultimately, that’s what counts. How you feel. Both are very special to me and I don’t choose one over the other. Today though, the focus is on the latter, while the former will have its day in the limelight next month.
