⚽️ 🎣 Saturday football and Sunday morning fishing
Remember Morecambe and Wise, when they used to do their bedtime skits?
That’s what came to mind when I recorded the opening footage of the video.
It was a mixed bag as far as Saturday’s football results were concerned, with a win, draw and defeat for the teams I was following.
Up nice and early the following morning, it was another sub-zero start to the day, as far as air temperature was concerned.
Fishing a small pool, I presented a single white maggot over red and white maggots, in five-feet of water.
Needless to say, it was a very slow session.
After a few slight dips on the float and several sucked maggots, I finally banked a small roach.
It proved to be the only fish of the two hours.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 1.2g float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Nature notes: Song thrush singing on arrival. Coot driving away two male mallards from dense overhanging branches, most likely a nesting site. Grey heron in high flight.
