⚽️ 💰 The highs and lows of football and the highs of the premium bonds
With Wolves v Manchester United being broadcast on television, that was my evening sorted.
It was a rollercoaster of a game, and when Wolves equalised late in added time at the end of the encounter, I was on a high.
Even later in added time, Man U scored to make it 4-3, and the emotions were at the other end of the scale.
I learnt though, many years ago, to appreciate the highs of football but to distance myself from the lows.
As any football fan knows, if you allow the game to run the emotional show, you’ll be all over the place.
With it being a very late game, I stayed up with my wife to check the premium bonds draw.
Unfortunately, the app wasn’t working, so we went to bed not knowing whether we were rich or not, although if you do win the big one they let you know in advance.
In the morning, though, we were able to check and we had the best month ever since we bought a batch of bonds.
Between us we ended up £450 better off, with my wife getting the bulk (£350) of that.
It doesn’t matter though because everything we have is in a joint bank account.
