🎣 Angling | Tench fishing on a lake, as the heatwave continues to dominate

In order to beat the heatwave, I went fishing nice and early on a lake. Although the overnight air temperatures have been quite good of late – falling to about 18C – the days are sizzling.

The highs are into the 30s and, once the sun rises, in no time at all we’re in the mid-twenties. However, the fishing continues, with the umbrella a vital part of the four-hour session today.

I was after tench but the feeding bubbles were thin on the ground. Naturally, the air temperatures will have a bearing on the water reading. The bright and constant sunshine will also have a direct impact.

Right at the end, although it wasn’t a tinca, I netted a roach. Like yesterday’s session, again I was just on the right side of the line. Obviously, it’s hard going at the moment, but I’m still catching. Just. Home
