🎣 Angling | Tench fishing on the needle-in-a-haystack pool and a lesson in perseverance

Watch on YouTube

Due to other commitments, most of my recent fishing trips have been evening ones. They’re easier on the body I would think, is what most would say.

Still catching up on an angling overnighter and the England game – where effectively I lost two night’s sleep on the bounce – I wasn’t sure I was ready for a 4.00 a.m. start today.

Not going to bed until after midnight anyway, made me think I’ll do something else during the day.

However, my body woke me up anyway, so I went. I do amaze myself sometimes; where do I get all this energy from, I wonder.

I decided to take advantage of the early start by having three hours on the needle-in-a-haystack pool. Once I hit that mark, although I hadn’t caught, I was convinced that I would.

Therefore, I stayed for a further hour and I did. You have to know when to quit but also when to persevere. Home
