🎣 Fishing the harbour and personal memories of Rhyl from the sixties

Session two of the holiday saw me back at Rhyl harbour. The tides are anything but ideal this week, but that’s no problem, because I’ll still go fishing anyway. You have to work around them, rather than the tide fitting in with your schedule.

I did a couple of hours up to high water and by the time I got to bed it was pushing 2.00 a.m. I’m on holiday though, so it’s not as if I have to be up for work at 6.00 a.m. Plus, I’m retired anyway.

I caught a trio of five-bearded rockling. I do love that particular species, or to be more precise, rocklings in general. The other two common ones in the UK are three-bearded and shore. Considering I was battling with crabs, I was more than happy with the session.
