Welcome to Scotland and memories of Mr. Big

It’s groundhog day for The New Saints, as far as the semi-final and final of the Scottish Challenge Cup is concerned.

We’re in the same hotel and playing at the same stadium.

The difference, of course, is the opponent.

Last time round it was Falkirk, this time it’s Airdrieonians.

The journey north was a good one and, as I was up really early to go fishing, I did sleep on the team bus.

My sleeping patterns are fairly irregular, but I do get quality rest, which is important.

We stopped at Gretna Green on the way, which brought back memories of a visit I made with my wife many years ago, when we were on holiday.

There was a wedding that had just taken place and the photographs were being taken, when the bride spotted our pet ferret, Mr. Big.

She was fascinated and asked if he could be in a photograph!

He was the star, everyone was fussing over him!

He was a very special character though, one of the very best pets we’ve ever had.

Back to the present and the video below is from the hotel, which is near Falkirk.

  1. Enjoyed your video on Sedgley Beacon. Me and my daughter built the bench at the far end by Wolverhampton Road facing West about 12 years ago. Best place to sit and watch the Summer sunsets.

    1. Thanks, Neill.
That’s great, it is a beautiful place and some of the sunset views are magnificent from the area.
I moved a few miles west in 2020 and we now get marvellous sunrises from the living room window.
