First tench session of the year
A new month, a new season and a new species.
My angling seasons follow the calendar months, with March 1 being the first day of spring.
It was ambitious, with the conditions still very wintry, but nevertheless I decided to have my first tench trip of 2024.
The rain was lashing down, it was very windy and so cold I was struggling to tie a hook properly.
I fished corn over brown crumb on a lake but didn’t even get a bite of any description, never mind a fish.
I’ll give it a couple of weeks and I’ll be back on the trail of the tinca.
I was joined by my school friend from Sedgley’s Queen Victoria Primary School, Ian Clarke.
He blanked as well but it was great to catch up again.
