Storm Debi passes but the angling continues anyway
Apart from small items being blown around, in the area where I live Storm Debi passed by with minimal impact.
The trees shed a few more leaves and recycling day saw plastic bottles and cans lying around but that was about it.
No rain for a couple of days has seen the ponds I fish, well certainly the ones fed by brooks, lose the murky colour and return to normal clarity.
It was to one of those venues that I set off first thing for a couple of hours float fishing.
I was targeting roach, as they are the predominant species on that particular pool, and you can see some of the fish in the video, as well as a bonus perch at the end.
It’s a shallow venue and I was casting into water that was just two feet deep.
I mention the hook and bait in the video and the line was 4lb Maxima Chameleon.
I did catch but not as prolifically as the previous session, when the water was heavily coloured.
Nature watch: Although I didn’t see it/them, there was a very vocal raven in nearby woodland.
I also briefly heard a ring-necked parakeet.
