Another small pond angling session

As the video above begins, I do like small venues, and certainly as far as ponds are concerned, they’ve played a big part of my angling in recent years.

This session was on a venue that is a regular part of my fishing portfolio.

It’s clear and shallow but those facts are just part of the challenge.

As long as you’re realistic when it comes to targeting small ponds, you can have some very enjoyable times.

The roach is invariably the target, especially in the winter months, and a good starting point is that when you’re talking ‘2s’ it’s more realistic to think of ounces rather than pounds.

On this occasion I was fishing water that was about two feet deep, presenting double white maggots on a size 14 hook beneath a 0.8g waggler.

I didn’t bank any monsters, but I enjoyed it, and that is always the most important thing when it comes to fishing.
