Perch and roach from a small pond
I haven’t forgotten about tench but I’ve enjoyed my recent small pond sessions so much, that’s where I fished this time.
Plus, time was tight so an hour to spare was always going to be potentially more profitable after perch on a smaller venue rather than pursuing tincas on a big lake.
Fishing with a small waggler and two red maggots on a size 14 hook, I did well with a few roach and lots of perch.
It was shallow, clear water and the fish were very obliging.
I needed the landing net as well, which is always an encouraging sign when the car is smelly on the return journey home.
