Engaging with a moorhen

Although I didn’t catch any fish, I did engage with a moorhen.

It had a chick in the reeds and so, as well as eating for itself, it was also feeding the youngster.

The bird was very bold and picked off crumb and corn that had fallen on the ground, as well as in the landing net.

I captured the moorhen on film and although I didn’t video the coot, I was also throwing corn to one of those that also had a chick.
