To round the day off, I settled down to watch Haverfordwest County play B36 Tórshavn in the Europa Conference League on S4C.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg in the Faroe Islands, for Wales to keep its fourth European place, it was crucial that the Bluebirds won.
They did – over 90 minutes – but with the tie going to extra-time, the visitors equalised and sadly, that was the end of the journey for Haverfordwest.
They gave everything though and were an absolute credit to the Cymru Premier in particular and Welsh football in general.
Well done, Haverfordwest. Da iawn, Hwlffordd.
