Lots of reflection on the English Channel
I loved the journey across the English Channel and, although the weather wasn’t the best, I spent the whole time on the outside of the upper deck.
As we left the Kent coast behind, the song that was playing in my mind was the Vera Lynn classic.
I’m sure you know the one.
Staying with the WWII theme, as we crossed I imagined the Dunkirk (which is close to Calais) evacuation in the spring of 1940.
Almost 1,000 vessels were involved as they brought back allied soldiers who were trapped on the French coast.
Great post. You never fail to cheer me up. Thanks.
Nice one, Mel. Thanks.
