It was the usual approach of fishing over brown crumb and sweetcorn about three rod lengths from the bank.
I quiver tipped a single grain of corn on a size 10 hook, flicking a 1/4 ounce lead which was ample for the distance fished.
I had a hook part company with a tench early on and had to then wait some time before the next fish took the bait.
Just a small (relatively speaking) tench but very welcome.
It was a slow session with just two tincas and a small roach but, as always, very enjoyable.
