Feeding birds while fishing

One of the big pluses about angling is that it puts us at the heart of the natural world.

It’s usually the likes of mallards, moorhens and robins but I often find myself feeding birds.

I did have a diving coot helping itself to corn when I first arrived but then a single grain thrown to a passing Canada goose meant that I had a friend for life, or at least for the remainder of the session.

Coming very close to the bank, I fed it lots of corn, especially as it sat there in the water looking at me.

I even had it feeding out of my hand.

It was then joined by the aforementioned coot and I captured footage which you can see in the video.
