A man is sentenced to hang and in court he threatens revenge against Holmes.
In his cell, his wife brings him a Christmas pudding.
The string around it is made of wire and he escapes, after cutting throughout the bars.
Holmes is expecting him and sets up a dummy, which the man shoots.
The police capture him again and this time there is no escape.
