There’s a murder in a Sussex mansion and the two go to help the police.

As always, what the police have worked out as fact is challenged by Holmes.

There is an angling thread running through the film.

For example, when the inspector is angry about something, Holmes tells Watson:

‘’He should fish, it soothes the nerves.’’
