The 13th in the Turn Of Fate short television movies, Tinhorn (top left image) is from 1957 and is set in the days of the American pioneering days.
David Niven plays Jeff Carleton, a gambler and cheat.
However, when he connects with a wagon train, his life begins to turn around.
He reluctantly reads from the Bible (Psalm 23) to a dying lady and baptises two children.
Instead of the gambler, he becomes known as the parson.
There’s a strong moral story running through the film about turning to God and then seeing your life turned around for the better.
