The British weather, fishing is the perfect platform from which to engage with the natural world and this morning’s session

Ah, the weather. No wonder it’s never far from conversation as far as British people are concerned.

Yesterday we had very strong winds, evident from leaves, petals, branches and all manner of plastic objects such as bins, garden chairs and watering cans strewn over the ground.

This morning, I was scraping ice from the car before I could leave the drive to go fishing.

It was quite thick as well, not just the type that you can brush off with your hand.

Whatever the conditions though, the angling show goes on.
