I am blessed to have such wonderful countryside on my doorstep but even if you live in an urban area, there are still havens of peace and quiet, even if just relative.
Last year I was in London for a work-related visit, and as I had some time to kill when I got to my final tube stop, I went to Kennington Park.
Although it’s in the capital, and of course you can still hear traffic and it’s busy with people, nevertheless in context it’s still a bolt hole of tranquility.
If you struggle with your mental health, just getting away from your normal environment is a positive in itself.
