As always, I took my binoculars on holiday and although the birding wasn’t serious I did keep a list of what I saw.
As you can see, there are some really common birds missing but that’s because it was just a casual list.
A walk through the sand dunes and scrub area between Talacre and the lighthouse.
Birds seen, in order of appearance: herring gull, wood pigeon, blackbird, carrion crow, magpie, skylark (several singing above the sand dunes), chiffchaff (at least 8 different birds singing), blue tit, house sparrow, dunnock, rook, redshank (several in car park next to the salt marsh), brent goose (2 in the same area as the redshank), long-tailed tit, starling (c.80 birds feeding on grass at caravan park).
