Hwyl fawr, north Wales, a very high tide and holiday birding

It’s a very high tide indeed and the car park and salt marsh were both flooded.

If you know the area then you’ll be familiar with the video footage below but if you’re not, the sea is usually the other side of the sand dunes.

There’s are also clips of the natterjack toad reserve, with shallow pools, which is an important feature for the amphibians.

Due to the salt marsh being flooded, we didn’t walk to the hide along the estuary, but we had been there in the week so it wasn’t an issue.
