A visit to Geoff’s Tackle & Bait in Rhyl, followed by a low water trip to the Dee estuary at Talacre

A long walk but was it worth it? Absolutely.

It’s one of my favourite sea venues and I’m thankful that, at the the age of sixty, I’m still able to walk that distance along with all my gear.

I had a couple of hours to low water and it’s important to say that if ever you do fish it, be very careful once the tide turns.

As you’re fishing on a bank the water rises slowly, but behind you the flat beach means that it is racing in.

  1. A successful session there Stewart topped off with the dab at the end. Geoffs Tackle shop is a veritable Aladdins cave.

    1. It was indeed, Glyn. I love fishing Talacre. A long walk but worth it.
I’ve been going to Geoff’s for years now whenever I’ve been on holiday.
Next time you’re in, tell Darren you saw him on YouTube!
