A visit to Geoff’s Tackle & Bait in Rhyl, followed by a low water trip to the Dee estuary at Talacre

Although I enjoyed my three visits to Rhyl harbour, I really wanted to fish the Dee estuary at Talacre and that’s where this blog entry comes from.

It’s walking distance from the caravan we stayed in, however, having said that it’s an extremely long walk.

Not necessarily to the beach itself but to the water’s edge as it’s a low tide mark and the sea goes out a long way. A very long way.

The beach is flat and so the water comes in extremely quickly and disappears likewise as the tide turns.

  1. A successful session there Stewart topped off with the dab at the end. Geoffs Tackle shop is a veritable Aladdins cave.

    1. It was indeed, Glyn. I love fishing Talacre. A long walk but worth it.
I’ve been going to Geoff’s for years now whenever I’ve been on holiday.
Next time you’re in, tell Darren you saw him on YouTube!
