Getting more angling sessions in, another outing on a pool and thoughts on the close season

The ban was lifted in 1995 on pools, ponds and lakes etc, followed by canals five years later.

There were some very vocal opponents at the time who said they would never fish during that period, citing fish welfare issues.

More than twenty years later, has it affected the fish? Have they suffered as a result?

I’d say a resounding no to both questions.

Are there still ultra traditionalists who, like some who didn’t get what they wanted in the 2016 Brexit vote, continuing to fight for a return to the old days?
