We’re now in the close season period, as far as flowing water coarse fishing is concerned.
That means, until June 16 there’s no fishing on rivers, streams or brooks.
Along with many others, I can remember very clearly when there was a blanket ban on all coarse fishing during this period of time.
I can recall, particularly as a fishing-mad child, how it was with no angling at all, especially as there wasn’t even the game or sea options where I lived.
I couldn’t wait until June 16, it was a special date as far as I was concerned.
