When it comes to removing hooks from fish after catching them, ‘care’ is the important word to bear in mind.

While most hooks can be removed by hand, it’s vital that we also at least carry a disgorger with us.

I say ‘at least’ because it’s also good to take forceps as well.

Sometimes you just need that extra strength and leverage when removing a hook that has set strongly.
