I’m pretty sure that a pike in the swim is a much more common occurrence than we realise.
The fishing goes quiet and we think it’s dinner time over, when in fact it’s only just begun.
When you think about it, it’s only natural that a large number of prey fish in one place will attract predators.
It’s been interesting to see them enter very shallow water, sometimes less than one foot deep.
They’re probably thinking, if it’s good enough for the perch and fish, it’s good enough for me.
