Crooked House by name, crooked house by nature

Not far from where we live, situated in the Staffordshire countryside between Gornal Wood and Himley, lies The Crooked House.

Built in 1765, it was originally a farmhouse before it became a public house, half a century later.

Indeed.

The reason for its unusual appearance is mining subsidence and there is a swing of four feet from one side of the building to the other.

I have been there many years ago but I returned with my wife this afternoon.

We had coffee, and of course I did some filming there as well, the result of which you can watch below.
