I’m on a carp fishing overnighter – Live blogging from the water’s edge

9.30 p.m.

I’m fishing a shallow section of a lake.

The bottom is clear so no weed issues, which is why I’ve gone for a bottom boilie, as opposed to a pop-up.

I’m fishing with a fixed lead (safe rig) and M1 (SBS Baits) 14mm boilies on a hair rig.

It’s not a ‘runs water’ and one carp will be a result.

However you look at it though, you have to be in it to win it.

  1. Twenty pounders are monsters to me Stewart …I’m doing a few nights myself from Friday on the lower Severn a place I know you know well .
Hoping for a Barbel but will be tough on a low river.
I am also trying my first Zander
    Tight lines

    1. They do go to 30+ in this lake but like all big fish, they don’t queue up to be caught.
Nice one! I do love the lower Severn and have some great memories over the years.
Tight lines on the barbel and zander!

    1. Thanks, Dean.
Just twenties. In fairness though, I haven’t fished it much for carp.
