🎣 Kicking off the working week perch fishing on the Staffs/Worcs Canal and no wind, no rain, can stop me
With stormy weather the order of the day, I began the working week fishing the Staffs/Worcs Canal, with a strong southerly breeze as the audio backdrop to this session.
Swim selection is always important and I go through that in the video, as well as the tackle used and, of course, the fish caught.
It was always going to be a challenge but, whether angling in particular or life in general, I’m up for that.
The second part of the heading by the way, is from a Diana Ross song, ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, and perfectly sums up my approach to fishing in adverse conditions.
Fishing from 6.30 a.m. for a couple of hours, I caught perch – including a canal specimen – and roach, and then it was back home for my weekly Bayside Radio angling chat with Jeff Pearson.
The slot goes out on Thursday as part of Jeff’s afternoon show on the Colwyn Bay-based station.
I don’t know how many people listen specifically to the fishing segment – there must be a few because they’re very keen to keep it going – but regardless of numbers, it’s always good to talk angling
