⚽️ A tour of the Ballyclare Comrades’ boardroom with club legend, Don Horner, and football memorabilia items for my collection
When we arrived at Ballyclare Comrades FC for our game, as always I filmed from the off, capturing footage for The New Saints’ social media platforms.
While in the corridor, a man who I later found out was club legend, Don Horner, asked me if I wanted to have a look around the boardroom.
As someone who loves football-related history, I didn’t need to be asked twice.
What a lovely man he is and such a fount of knowledge regarding the club.
It really was an honour to meet him.
I was later given a book that tells the story of the Comrades and, as I like to get my memorabilia signed, who better than Mr. Ballyclare Comrades himself.
He also gave me a mug celebrating the centenary year of 2019.
That was all captured on video by the lovely Zoë Tisdale, who is the media officer at the club.
She does a wonderful job and I first noticed her on her knees capturing footage of the players coming through the tunnel.
I thought to myself, that’s someone I can identify with, as I’m often in non-orthodox positions to get different – and more creative – angles.
The other person who I want to mention is James Kirk, the club chairman.
He was so welcoming and friendly and Ballyclare Comrades is blessed to have him at the helm.
