⚽️ 🏴 🇮🇪 Goodbye Liverpool, Hello Dublin, as The New Saints head across the Irish Sea
I’m used to early starts but it usually involves fishing.
This time though it was work, as I was up with the dawn chorus to begin a day that would take me to four countries.
Beginning in England, travelling through Wales, flying to Ireland and then settling down for the night in Northern Ireland.
I do quite enjoy football-related travel though and so it’s not just about the destination but also enjoying the journey.
Funnily enough, that’s the Thought For The Day message that I recorded initially in 2021, which, like the others is posted daily on the home page of the site.
On The New Saints’ team bus, we picked up players and staff at Oswestry, Rhosllanerchrugog and Chester before meeting the remainder at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
There was a flight delay but we eventually arrived in Dublin and had a pre-match meal at the Clayton Hotel in the city.
