I missed the third England game in the Euro 24 group, because I was at a match myself in Northern Ireland, at Ballyclare Comrades.
However, come the round of 16, I was sitting down at home in front of the television with my wife, as England took on Slovakia.
Going one-nil down, it didn’t look good at all, and I said to my wife, I don’t think my flag is going to be on the garage door much longer
However, I also said to her that if England scored an equaliser, they would go on to win the game.
Not only did they get the equaliser, courtesy of Jude Bellingham with seconds to go, but Harry Kane then found the back of the net, and the game ended 2-1 to England in extra-time.
