🎣 Home late, up earIy, living by a school and I don’t need a thermometer to tell me it’s cold
The freezing spell continues and the heading speaks for itself.
I didn’t get home from Guilsfield until almost midnight, so first thing this morning was spent working as opposed to my usual angling session.
By the time I finished, the local primary school had started to welcome parents and, as my desk is next to a window, I saw cars park across my drive as the mothers took their children in.
The joys of living close to a school, eh.
I was on my way angling before the afternoon shift though.
I try to avoid the mayhem as much as possible.
For two hours a day it’s utter chaos and then for the others there’s hardly any traffic at all.
It’s certainly tough going at present, as far as angling is concerned and that’s why it’s important to target the right species.
Roach certainly tick the box and they, again, were my target species.
January has certainly become roach month and I followed the recent pattern of presenting a grain of sweetcorn over loose corn on a float, in this case though in four feet of water.
Fishing to dark, I can’t say that it was hectic, but I did catch.
